LITTLE ELM
Land Development Code
The Town of Little Elm has grown a lot over the years—from just 3,646 residents in 2000 to over 55,000 residents today. During this time, due to the rapid pace of growth, many of the policies and regulations that the Town has used to guide development have become outdated.
In 2017 the Town adopted a Comprehensive Plan with goals and policies that capture the community’s vision for the future, and the Town is currently working on an update to that Comprehensive Plan that will further refine that vision for several areas of Little Elm.
The purpose of this project—an update to the Land Development Code (LDC)—is to implement the Comprehensive Plan and other plans and policies related to how the community will grow into the future. The LDC is the set of regulations that guide how development should occur within Little Elm.
